The LEGO Pirates Shipwreck Defense (70409-1) depicts a tense confrontation at a marooned pirate's fortified hideout, originally released in 2015. This detailed scene features a Bluecoat Soldier launching a surprise attack against a swaggering pirate defending his shipwreck dwelling. The pirate's hideout, measuring over 4” (12cm) high, includes a mast with a crow’s nest and a fireplace concealing a stash of stolen treasure. A functional spring-loaded cannon, complete with a torch and flame element, allows the Bluecoat Soldier to blast the hideout's hinged port side for a realistic cannon-impact effect, causing it to collapse. Minifigure accessories include a gun, a pistol, and a cutlass, facilitating dynamic swashbuckling adventures. The set can be combined with LEGO Pirates Treasure Island (70411) for an expanded pirate narrative.
