The LEGO Racers Nitro Race Team (8473-1) from 2002 delivers dynamic racing action through versatile vehicle transformations. Builders assemble a powerful hot rod, which loads onto an accompanying transport truck. For immediate race deployment, the truck features a tipping ramp mechanism, allowing the hot rod racer to launch directly into competition. A core play function involves rebuilding the set: use the hot rod's wheels and motor to convert the transport truck itself into an entirely new racing machine. Furthermore, the entire 8473-1 set can be reconfigured into two separate racers, one equipped with a pull-back motor for propelled starts and another featuring a slammer mechanism for explosive play.
